some time ago i posted the songs i recorded during the radio/studio session i did for the radio show dwars somewhere in november 2009. back then they also ask me some stuff about my music in an interview and now they assembled the interview and the songs into a portrait. i’m kind of used to hearing my own voice when singing, but not when talking .. didn’t know i talk with such speed and accent .. i think i was so hyper-nervous that i sometimes forgot to breathe :)

ps: dwars is kind of the dutch complement of the peel sessions, so you might also want to check out their streamable archive!! they had all my favorite artists playing sessions, from mount eerie, colleen, ignatz, trouble books, tara jane o’neil, julie doiron, to hood, tarentel, machinefabriek and wouter van veldhoven, and even tortoise, low, arab strap, pedro the lion and the black heart procession .. to name just a few.. sigh :)

in november last year, i was invited to record a radio/studio session for the radio show dwars. when i just moved to the netherlands dwars was the only thing i would listen to on the radio. they always had my favorite artists (to be) invited and their radio sessions were notorious. i’d say they are the dutch peel sessions. (if you don’t believe me, check out their archive!!) now the on air radio part got cut, like all non-mainstream media.. so now i have also nothing to listen to anymore .. on the real radio at least.. luckily dwars still exists online.. phew :) and now they invited me. i’ve seen berry kamer, who presents the show, a few times before in real life.. but it was funny to really talk to the sonorous voice i listened to so many nights! anyways, they put online what i had produced. hope you enjoy.

tomorrow night will be the folio radio show lo-fi uit de lage landen on radio 6, introducing the new puddle parade record together with two other cool items: wixel’s slaapliedjes and redrawn, the remix album of soccer committee and machinefabriek. the show starts at midnight and is streamable online afterwards. ps: the show is the radio recommendation of the day in the vpro gids (national broadcast guide), yeay!
