you can get in for free and there’s also loads of other (family) stuff to do.
“tour” blog – things that went wrong today:
me and my personal roady bastiaan took a train to maastricht. however, some other train happened to crash into someone or something, so we needed to make a d-tour via tilburg. 1 hour delay .. whatever.. but then in the other train my poor personal roady bastiaan got totally dissed (he calls us racist snobs) and almost beaten up by a really pissed off and aggressive (black) hiphop guy .. it all started with a few drops of beer on our gear, it all could have been done after an “oh sorry”, it all almost ended in a totally ridiculous fight ..
arriving at maastricht central station we have to take a taxi to the old cement factory AINSI. the taxi driver, a really friendly older turkish gentleman is sure that he has been there before, but after half an hour we find out that he’s on the wrong side of the river, with no bridge very near. time to switch ON the tomtom, but how to spell this street name again?!? “sorry sorry, it’s my fault. don’t be afraid!” we are not. another 30minutes delay .. whatever ..
at the venue the “producer” is more concerned about our stomachs than about soundcheck time. as opposed to me. so first soundcheck, than food: 2 milliseconds microwaved tempeh, right out of the fridge. ugh! show starts and my batteries in one of the loop pedals are empty … argh .. had no time to change them before .. panic! then one song later .. a cable breaks .. ARGH! however, the rest of the night and show goes fine .. phew..
afterwards julie mittens are dusting off the venue, by using exactly these frequencies that make lamps shake .. looked really pretty!!! we stay in an awkward b&b, next morning we meet a british clown at breakfast, he performed at the festival, too. he’s not so content with the breakfast, the tea, the tiny rooms and .. the tiny towels. “i had to make choices. my legs are still wet.”
